About Us –  So Why Kimmys Zoo?

I started Kimmys Zoo in 2011 after 7 years of studying Animal Management and Zoology and having 10 years of working in various sectors in the animal industry. I started the business from a pure passion for caring and learning about animals. The zoo started doing little visits to care homes and with special needs groups. The animals are non-judgmental and have helped me growing up so i wanted to allow people the opportunity to feel the comfort they bring too. I also wanted to educate people on how difficult and expensive animals are to care for and what might be a good pet for them to keep using my knowledge of various domestic pets to prevent further cruelty and neglect in the years to come. We are animals too and all animals deserve the same respect and we have changed alot of peoples perceptions of animals especially snakes and bugs. There is nothing more satisfying when an adult especially changes from a negative to curious view in a matter of seconds making them appreciate the wonders of the animal world like we do. We make a huge difference with our animal encounters and hope to keep doing so in years to come.

Our Aims

We aim to provide people with an experience that is unique and memorable. We are very lucky to have these animals and believe that everybody should have the opportunity to experience an exotic encounter. Having the opportunity to interact with friendly exotic animals is something the public may never get to do again!!
We strongly try to educate people as much as possible on the animals ecology to enable people to understand and respect exotic animals in the wild and the threats they face. Education will also enable people to gain a better understanding of how difficult and expensive these animals are to care for in captivity and how we care for them at Kimmys Zoo
We aim to reduce animal neglect through our education and following methods: Here at Kimmys we have helped people overcome spider, snake and even meerkat phobias!! This enables people especially adults to open up and become interested in the animals and in turn creates a greater respect for animals in general. By providing children with the opportunity to interact with such animals at a young age will enable them to grow up without a fear of animals and a genuine respect for animals as living things and not trophy’s or an inconvenience as many are seen today once they have uncovered the time and costs of keeping an exotic pet
